OSU SAC in Tulsa Continuing Education Award Program

The intent of the OSU Staff Advisory Council in Tulsa Continuing Education Award Program is to provide assistance to qualified OSU staff members in meeting the costs of continuing education for enhancement of job performance at OSU in Tulsa. Awards are funded through various SAC projects, private donations and include matching funds from the university. Awards will be made when funds are available. Only one application per employee every academic year is allowed.

Awards will be made upon Staff Advisory Council approval of final recommendations made by the Awards and Recognition Committee. Awards are “cost-reimbursable." Awardee must cover costs at enrollment, complete the class(es), and submit a final grade report of “C” or higher in an accredited college credit class(es) in order to receive the award. Awardees will provide their final grade to the Chairperson of the OSU SAC in Tulsa Awards and Recognition Committee before receiving the award.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicant must be currently enrolled in continuing education.
  2. Applicant must be employed as a staff member (exempt/non-exempt) at either OSU Center for Health Sciences or OSU-Tulsa.
  3. Applicant must be employed a minimum .75 FTE or more and at least funded 50% through budget or grant.
  4. Applicant must have completed one year of continuous service, employed within OSU-Tulsa or OSU-CHS with the above status for at least one year.
  5. Recipient must be employed at OSU-CHS or OSU-Tulsa after completion of class(es) to receive reimbursement. A recipient who resigns or is terminated before completion of class(es) will forfeit their scholarship.
  6. If selected, the applicant must submit a transcript to Staff Advisory Council.

Criteria for Award Selection

The Awards and Recognition Committee will consider all applications that meet all eligibility requirements. All questions on the application must be answered to be considered. Additional information may be requested by the Chairperson either through phone call, email or personal interview during the final selection process. Applicants will be ranked numerically, with all names being removed from all documentation in order to allow for objective ranking by Committee members. The awardees will be chosen by their rank, highest rankings first, in descending order. Ranking criteria will be based on program level, degree, grades and credit hours. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received a prior Staff Advisory Council award. If the applicant is receiving other assistance, it will also be taken into consideration.

Applications for the 2016-2017 award are due no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 10.

Application will not be considered if all questions are not answered. Be specific.
