The intent of the OSU in Tulsa Staff Advisory Council Scholarship Program is to provide scholarships to qualified OSU staff members for assistance in meeting the costs of continuing education for enhancement of job performance at OSU in Tulsa. Scholarships are funded through various SAC projects, private donations and include matching funds from the university. Awards will be made when funds are available and announced during Staff Appreciation Day.
Applications are being accepted for Summer and Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters.. Only one application per employee every academic year is allowed.
Awards for scholarships will be made upon Staff Advisory Council approval of final recommendations made by the Awards and Recognition Committee. Scholarships are “cost-reimbursable”. Awardee must cover costs at enrollment, complete the class(es), and submit a final grade report of “C” or higher in an accredited college credit class(es) in order to receive the award. Awardees will provide their final grade to the Chairperson of the OSU in Tulsa SAC Awards and Recognition Committee before receiving the award. The SAC Treasurer will issue one half of the total award. The matching portion will be payroll deposited, with taxes being deducted.
The Awards and Recognition Committee will consider all applications that meet all four eligibility requirements. All questions on the application must be answered to be considered. Additional information may be requested by the Chairperson either through phone call, email or personal interview during the final selection process. Applicants will be ranked numerically, with all names being removed from all documentation in order to allow for objective ranking by Committee members. The awardees will be chosen by their rank, highest rankings first, in descending order. Ranking criteria will be based on program level, degree, grades and credit hours. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received a prior Staff Advisory Council scholarship. If the applicant is receiving other assistance, it will also be taken into consideration.
Application will not be considered if all questions are not answered. Be specific.
Applications for the 2012-2013 scholarship award are due no later than April 8, 2013.
